Do old people need diversity? Sometimes I feel young people stare at me for being so old, and at times, I feel like teenage kids want to kick me?

What's my agenda? If it's too obvious maybe you should share with the rest of us.

Having a STEM degree and career field, I have my fill of diversity at work. I've worked many projects and environments and diversity is a weakness and a huge obstacle in the workplace. However no Americans seem to be intelligent or driven enough to touch this stuff, so such is life.

When I come back home I like to live among people who are like me. I grew up in an area that was quaint but became diverse (Northeast Fort Bend). Crime shot up and schools went to pot. I don't want that for my kids. If they want to experience diversity outside of what is already in school, they can get a job at Kroger or Dollar Tree when they are 16. And then get a Masters in a STEM degree.

Remember: black neighborhoods for blacks, Hispanic neighborhoods for Hispanics, and white neighborhoods for everyone.

While it hasn't been said quite so clearly, that's pretty much the summary of this entire thread when you read the "answers" or excuses I've been given.

I'm Venezuelan and I like cultural diversity because that's what I saw growing up in Caracas.
That makes Houston very appealing to me.

There's also a lot of venezuelans in Houston, that also makes it appealing to me since I have lived in the US 20 years and I rarely visit my family. But now I have the opportunity to hang out with venezuelans mainly to practice my venezuelan Spanish (If I use slang here, nobody will understand me), make traditional christmas food, etc, etc.

Do you see now how is possible to want to have both and is not a contradiction?
