Unless he has changed his mind on what he wants from this facility or the address is incorrect, it doesn’t seem like this is a 100% ideal location for an entertainment venue. I could be wrong.
Interesting, of course it was five years ago that he said that . . . a lot has happened since then that might have made him go in a different direction.

FWIW, the permit only showed $15 Million of work being done, so it doesn't sound like it would be any major entertainment center open to the public. Sounds more like a fairly minimal rehab of an existing structure to get the Rockets an improved facility. Might be a make-do effort to get the Rockets a minimally acceptable facility until they can come up with Tilman's preferred solution.

OR, it could be a training facility for Landy's. ;-) (Except that it's being designed by Populous, so probably sports training, not corporate/hospitality training...)

Fertitta entertainment hospitality training is outsourced to contractors. And those contractors outsource employees from the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Thailand, etc

They do have corporate internships but a specific hospitality centric training center, not so much. The closest to that is the school of hospitality of UH. They have some internships there as well.
