I think it would be a great development if planned in the right location. Thoughts

With the current owner, probably 0. With the World Cup going to Houston, Texan facility related development will probably go to NRG Stadium area in support of the World Cup.

If the owner sells the team, it’s always possible thereafter depending on what global events come afterward

Yes, the ownership is very questionable to say the least.

not likely as there has to be a city and school district with a Frisco mindset that can sell that type of development, give up the world in tax incentives plus have a willing major partner such as the PGA

plus Houston teams have no history of practicing/playing outside the city like Dallas

I dont think the Texans building a practice facility would need to be in the NRG area just because the world cup is coming. They could build a practice facility anywhere. Due to where most players live, no suburb in Houston would make sense other than Pearland, or maybe Sugar Land.

I don’t think the practice facility would be in the NRG area if built either. I was referring to the money. If I had to guess, I would think that any big investments on improving facilities will likely go to improving the Stadium facilities for the World Cup

There is no need for this in Houston.

Yeah the Texans don't deserve one honestly. Franchise is trash.

The Rockets could have used one ten years ago. They have literally the worst practice court in the entire NBA. If they can't take up a surface lot downtown for a cool urban practice court like the Nets have, then they need to go somewhere in the Inner Loop (maybe EaDo)?

We want free agents to want to come here when Jalen and Jabari are in their prime.

Back in 2017, Fertitta began searching for a new facility. Not sure what happened to that proposal. Can’t say it’s due to lack of funds, since Fertitta just bought property on the Vegas strip.

Edit: It is worth pointing out that They have been teaming up with McNeese in Lake Charles which has a brand new state of the art basketball facility itself. They do summer camps there. And since Fertitta also owns the luxurious Golden Nugget Casino Resort in the area, this pairs well for players spending summer camps there.

The Texans could team up with Academy to cooperate with their product testing facility at their headquarters in Katy
