I know but this place, I can't figure out what it is. While on the bus, I always try to see if there's anyone there. Maybe it's not a business but a make shift home for someone.

Ignore the ugly parts and never go there is how I manage.

Houston is one of the nicest, cleanest places I've ever lived because I just ignore the dross.

In my opinion (as someone who's never lived in Houston) it only looks so ugly because Houston's flatness makes it easy to see. Cities with rough topography have the advantage of slopes and dips to disguise and dress up their ugly sprawl.

It's true. Houston is not pretty. But the people here (for the most part) are nicer than the people who live in the "Pretty" cities. ~K~

One of the things the Katy Freeway reconstruction did was knock down some shifty looking buildings/establishments along the feeder roads. By far, it's one of the better looking freeways in the city as a result (at least, between the Loop and the Beltway).

It's my hope that one day they'll do something similar to the North Freeway.

I think this would look better for 45.

It's still a freeway though. Show me a freeway that's pretty.

Who cares what a city looks like from the freeway? Do you live on the freeway? Driving into Dallas on I-45 isn't pretty either, but that doesn't mean Dallas is ugly.

I would like you to point out a major metro that doesn't have crap along a few of their highways. Every major metro has this.

This is a city of 5 million people what did you expect Portland or Seattle. I'm tired of the flatness issue, Hello this is the gulf coast no mountains hills or valleys just skyscrapers thats what I love to look at ( architecturally sound ) until you go outside of the city like on 10 west and 290 and 6 towards Austin and Waco then you get hills valleys.

My take on it basically.

If you live in or around the loop you will almost never use the freeways except to leave town.
