Dang, I loved Bottle and Wedge. But I figured after Jeff opened Bonded by Bottles, it was only a matter of time until Suzanne did something different.

After they receive Vatican approval, is there a tentative timeline of how the merger will come to completion?

Also, I know Steel of WV and Duke are incensed, but have there been any other outspoken opponents of the merger from area businesses? I understand the pros and cons pretty well, but it seems like they've been the only vociferous opponents.

I feel like they have something to lose and are probably less concerned about people's ability to afford healthcare. I mean if they had an opportunity to hold a near monopoly over an entire area, I bet they wouldn't care.

Fairfield Inn & Suites has opened at KineticPark. Also, it seems that the deal for the long-awaited Taco Bell is set to be finalized by July 31st, after which construction should begin. I will try to restrain my enthusiasm for yet another Taco Bell in the area. It will be nice to finally see construction on the last remaining parcel on the lower level of KineticPark, although, I can think of many more exciting establishments that I would have liked to seen locate there instead. Sadly, yet again, I guess it was the best the HMDA could do.

It took a long time for that to happen, considering it was initially announced in December of last year. It will be a good addition to that area though.

I was reading through some of the comments on the Downtown Huntington Facebook page on the post where they gave an update on Texas Roadhouse and one of the comments stated that a Popeyes will be built on East Mall Rd. in Barboursville. Of course, you never know about these types of comments, but has anyone else heard anything about this? I'm not even sure where there is any space on East Mall Rd. except maybe by the Comfort Inn hotel?
