I noticed there's new buffet called "Sweet Peas" in the former Popeye's location on South Parkway.,

Kacey's Buffet is also scheduled to open on July 17 in the former Ryan's location across the street.

Hoping these and the new Grissom traffic spurs the Haysland Square owners into doing something!

The Alchemy story is up on the local electronic rag:

Alchemy Lounge to open second location at MidCity Huntsville | AL.com

It's only the 3rd confirmed announcement for MidCity. Hopefully that will pick up soon.

I wonder how the mayor can expect to build a new city hall for $20M, but the VBC expansion will be over twice that. I kinda think Battle is low-balling his "estimate".

Thanks for posting that picture. It also illustrates that RP West still has a lot of available land, and really need this as a shot in the arm!

152 acres of that is owned by HudsonAlpha who will only allow biotech related businesses to build. The city has estimated CRP west has enough land for 10-15 years worth of projects. That was the catalyst behind Gateway and the push for redevelopment of CRP east.

HudsonAlpha is building their 4th building now. This picture from Marty Sellers is a couple months old.

That looks like it would be adjacent to the MidTowne subdivision. I wonder if they will be testing those rocket engines and how much noise that will produce. Curious because I've been considering one of those lots that backs up to the Indian Creek Greenway.

doubtful if Research Park codes allow that. Any testing if required would be at Redstone or out of state.
Blue Origin tests its engines and rocket hardware at a sprawling ranch owned by Bezos near Van Horn, Texas
