The sign says going westbound something like
“You are leaving downtown turn around “
Eastbound says “even a rocket scientist knows you want to be part of this”
Or something to that effect.
This is going to be an exciting and major transformation project for downtown.

So I guess this is what the Mayor meant about the announcement coming.

probably
other things going on downtown, the demolition of the old furniture building on Jefferson is well underway. This is the future site of the new Curio Hilton.
Preliminary utility relocation etc for the new Hampton Inn and Suites across from the VBC appears to have begun.
AC Hotel completion is dragging a bit, probably early, mid February opening. No word on start date for food hall or other phase of construction at City Centre.
The food complex across from the Avenue is nearing completion, (Moes BBQ and Italian restaurant).
Construction crane has been up a while now for the new hospital parking deck behind women's and children and we will see a lot of activity on Gallatin for their new patient tower going up soon.

The Hampton Inn and suites hotel will Really change the look as well as the VBC construction. I think those will compliment whatever is goin in the Coca-Cola site.

And hopefully helps drive some updates and development around the parking garage across from the VBC.
