Default Blackhawk crash details are released - at least some

Not quite the right thread but the Blackhawk crash in the spring that landed just feet away from the new Crestwood have been released. This is courtesy of a reader/poster in the aviation forum.

Default More fatalities on hwy 53 in harvest

It’s clear that until 53 is widened, it needs to be 45 mph from harvest to Ardmore. How many more will die before there are actual prevention methods put into place?

Doesn't say which intersection.
Why do they cheap out and don't put turn lanes at lights with a light that has a TURN SIGNAL I'll never know. In the mornings several folks are coming south, and turning left at Harvest Rd (to get to the school on Jeff), but there's no turn lane and no TURN SIGNAL at the light. Folks that want to go straight have to wait and this is reversed in the afternoons with folks going north, and want to turn left on Harvest Rd, and traffic backs up almost to the credit union as until that person gets to turn, no one is going north.

BTW, you can easily lose a car in the ditch at Harvest Rd next to the gas station. No guard rail, but at least 7 ft deep at the turn.

Needs to be done at Old Railroad Bed Rd and any other new light they put in for the new school that will be off McKee.

The intersection in the video, was described as the one you speak of, harvest and hwy 53. That gas station doesn’t help things.

They could even do a “Jersey left turn” where your have a lane off to the right that curls/merges back into harvest to basically “go straight “ once the light turns red/green.

The ALDOT letting bids for the Railroadbed, Harvest and Mckee intersections were in at the end of August. Rogers group won it. Who knows when they will start. They have turn lanes at all 3 intersections exiting Hwy 53 but only RRbed has separate through and turn lanes leading onto Hwy 53. Mckee road current through lane will become right, left turn and straight (no real improvements). I kind of find it odd that they know a elementary school is going in not even a quarter mile to the east of this intersection and its getting nothing really for improvement to exit Mckee onto 53.

That will be disaster when trying to turn left (south) onto hwy 53 off of McKee.

Hwy 53 is difficult enough with the angle of every intersection not being 90 degree and then pile on the volume, at full speed, and it’s busy. All it takes at a left turn is a gun shy driver and you’re sitting there for five minutes.
