Also, the storm curves south after reaching here, so if it doesn't curve south as early as models predict it could get further inland. All it takes it 30 miles shift north here and Raleigh is in the area where 7 inches of rain is expected. So state officials here should watch closely when this thing begins to curve.

May have been posted somewhere back but a GREAT tool for surge tracking. Updated just after NHC updates (2,5,8,11am/pm). Storm specific. Shows worse case surge scenario based on if predicted surge hit at high tide there. This does not factor in rainfall trying to drain out. This was developed after Sandy and this is first year it's available. Considered a prototype but it's really good at seeing how water feeding into bays or oceans backs up.

Even crazier the rainfall total for Matthew would put many areas of eastern NC at their greatest yearly rainfall totals ever with still 3 month of the year to go. Many places will be over 120 inches of rain in the past 2 years.

I think the eye is past Miami latitude now. I stepped away from PC.

Nice graphic on the right.

Was just about to post that. lol

Status quo on the track and the uturn but looks like the UTurn is sharper. North Carolina getting spared!

Looks like Central Florida may be getter a tiny break. Landfall a bit north more it seems?

GFS Ensembles. Says don't Worry South Florida, I'll get you on the turn around. But will be weak by then.

Is it me or is that eye trying to wobble more north already. Might be an illusion ..
