I have a couple friends who live in CT. One is without power still, Bridgeport area. The other has power but had roof damage from wind, Danbury area.

Good luck, Cambuim.

I’d say Isaias was worse than Irene, which is impressive considering it was much drier and much shorter lived.

Sandy is still king.

Day #3 I still have no power. Over half million in CT still.

www.poweroutage.us

This is what 57mph looked like here. And it's not what knocked down most trees. It was the 30mph+ gusts that we frequently got after this peak gust. The 2 trees in front are Oak trees. Not even a scratch on them.

FYI... We usually get 30-50mph winds from Northwest and Northeast and this damage isn't done. I believe trees are weaker with winds from the south

Treetops are heavy this time of year, heavier than Oct - May. High winds in the middle of summer are bound to lead to more trees falling.

4th day with no power here. Longest ever. More than the October snowstorm with leaves on trees.

Connecticut Outages per http://poweroutage.us

8/4 1:02pm: < 10,000
8/4 5:10pm: 382,901
8/4 9:30pm: 588,511
8/5 6:50am: 698,134
8/5 3:11pm: 715,004
8/6 1:50pm: 592,616
8/6 8:20pm: 555,899
8/7 8:20am: 467,470
8/7 2:06pm: 447,780

Isaias was done with CT by 6pm August 4th yet outage reports kept rising the next day and it took 36hrs to drop under half million.

5th day with no power here. Connecticut still stands at the top

In CT alone..

- More than 500 broken poles
- More than 3,000 downed spans of electrical wire
- More than 2,200 trees to be removed
- More than 700 blocked roads
- More than 170 damaged transformers

Restoration crews helping from MA, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, NC, MD, NY.

"172 miles of downed wire to be repaired, which is the approximate distance from Hartford to Philadelphia"! WOW!
