if we are ignorant for expressing why we want these illegals to bounce, then ignorant we will be. We are only saying what the rest of America is thinking

oh yeah, if you want any respect on CityData, spell correctly.

My top five reasons for not liking illegals (there are more, believe that) :

5. Making whole neighborhoods undesirable
4. Lowering wages for hard labor and stealing other jobs
3. Racism (theirs, you know how many tough looks i get from them as an AA?)
2. Refusing to speak english (we translate everything for them, why would they want to learn english anyway?)
1. Killing law-abiding U.S. citzens every way possible (two girls in VA Beach by drunk driving, 3 AAs in Newark by gunfire come to mind)

At least the vast majority of us are doing so without slaughtering the written word.

The top ONE reason I don't like illegal immigration (not illegals individually--I can't say that I know every one of them)

"When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men (or women) living together in society, they create for themselves in the course of time, a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it"

Fredric Bastiat ~ The Law 1850

That is a truly insightful quote. Illegal aliens are so often portrayed as victims that we forget the underlying rapacity that motivates someone to live in a country illegally and demand rights.

Their supposed victim status also obscures the fact that, as a whole, I think their racism is unparalleled. So, they not only increase the crime and poverty in our society, but contribute to racism as well.

Especially in the African-American communities - therefore, there has been more crime, as illegals take the jobs teens used to have.

I think that their presence overall diminishes the level of civility in our society.

There's also a sense that pockets of our country actually belong to the third world.

Maybe, this sounds harsh but I live in the nightmare that is Southern California.

Reading these posts and considering my own experiences make me think there should be a support group for people whose lives have been negatively impacted by illegal immigration.

My ex-husband works for a waste water treatment plant--same place he's been since he was 18. Although he's now worked his way up into the lab and pre-treatment, he worked as a plant operator for years, a very nasty job.

Strange, but you know...there are to this day, still no illegal aliens doing this job.

Norton and Ralph would have no job these days, and it would certainly be no Honeymoon, either!

Maybe you should watch a few more of those Honeymooner tapes, Norton and Ralph's story was essentially a depiction of Italian and Irish immigrants trying to make it in America.

The fact that neither of them ever got promoted (and why they didn't), was a central theme the writers returned to in episode after episode.
