I have asked the Border Patrol (a very dear friend is a BP supervisor out of Sierra Vista) - the rule you refer to relates to assisting illegal entry.
Humanitarian aid is not prosecuted - even if it means transporting to a medical facility or another aid station (i.e. BP)
Could you give me the name of your Border patrol friend as I have friends that would appreciate this information. Be cause we were told under no uncertain terms that transporting an illegal is a felony and they did not mince

After what happened to BP agents Campean and Ramos; the BP not being on the same page does not surprise me.
