No, housing is expensive in So. Cal because of high demand/low supply. Most of LA/OC is built out, especially in the desirable "coastal" areas. The further you are from the coast, the more affordable housing becomes.

I am sick and tired of illegal aliens hiding behind the laws of the US which they break, most without punishment.

I find it laughabe that people like Martha Stewart and now Scotter Libby face jail time for lying to "FEDERAL INVESTIGATORS" when illegals smuggle themselves into our country, that is much worse than lying to an investigator. They only face deportation and they return the next day. What ever happened to "equal protection under the law?"

We do not need any new immigration laws. We need to enforce the laws on the books!

Deportation is the ONLY peaceful solution to illegal aliens.

Everyone should find and join the local council for concerned citizens.

Smile Assimilate this

The first protest was a sea of Mexican flags, but after that got bad press, the little illegals changed their tactics and carried US flags--upside down.

Carrying a flag doesn't indicate a willingness to assimilate. Embracing the language, respecting the laws of the land, and demonstrating the cultural values associated with a particular country are the first steps to assimilation.

Now if they trully want to assimilate, they should all go back home and start over...

english_teacher...don't you hate it when other don't listen to your intelligent advice, or live by your standards, geez...

"...the little illegals..." how condescending, I understand your "better/holier than thou" attitude, but I don't agree with it.

Sarcasm targets are not present in this forum, they are illegally working from dawn to dusk.

Default The Easiest Way to Solve U.S. Immigration Problems

The BASIC CAUSE of U.S. Immigration problems is INJUSTICE both here in the United States and in the country of origin of the immigrants.

The U.S. injustice is in the form of "giving aid and comfort" to the very same enemies of the immigrants, the corrupt officials and governments in their countries. The greatest beneficiaries of U.S. aids to foreign countries are the corrupt officials in the governments of the immigrants. Their countries can not generate employment opportunities for their peoples because their public funds and foreign financial assistance are not spent for public improvements but used to personally enrich and empower their leaders.

The INJUSTICE in the homelands of the immigrants are their own justice systems. Justice in their countries is a lucrative monopoly of their public officials and governments. The decisions of justice in their countries are generally always in favor of their government officials that make their crook officials look like saints while their ordinary people are made to look like second class citizens or slaves of their powerful public officials and their wealthy business associates in the private sector.

The BASIC SOLUTION of U.S. Immigration IS EASY to do: To start with, the U.S. Congress and the President should set up a model Justice System with rules and provisions similar to the Grand Jury and Trial Jury systems of the US Federal Jury Systems. The model jury system should likewise provide peace corp volunteers pool of American lawyers to help to set up the jury systems of a beneficiary country.

When giving out U.S. aid to foreign countries, it must attach a condition as a matter of foreign policy that the recipient country should set up and adopt the U.S. Model Jury Systems in said country. Such countries must ask peace corp US lawyer volunteers to help them set up their grand jury and trial jury systems.

The purpose of setting up the U.S. Federal Jury system in beneficiary countries of U.S. aid is to make their own people the peaceful sentinels over their own public officials and thereby send their corrupt officials to jail without engaging in violent means to reform their society.

After the peace corp US lawyer volunteers certify that the country needing U.S. financial aid has already set up its jury system in operating condition, only then shall the U.S. send funds to aid financially such countries to protect the funds and spent wisely by the recipient country. This will, in effect, not only protect the financial aid from misuse but likewise the local funds of the beneficiary countries.

If most, if not all, corrupt powerful officials in beneficiary countries are ably sent to jail by their peoples, such countries will become peaceful progressive countries economically and shall be able to create job opportunities for their peoples. There would be less need for the peoples on those countries to come to the U.S. to find employment here. I suppose they would rather stay with their love ones back home with their jobs nearby locally. This will naturally stop the tide of illegal immigration into the U.S. Not only democracies in such countries will greatly improve, they will also become rich markets for U.S. goods and services.

Let us take the example of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Britain which each have jury systems of justice. There are a lot less corrupt officials in said countries because their private citizens can send their corrupt officials to jail and they are, indeed, progressive and peaceful countries. They have great employment opportunities for their peoples. Very few of their peoples ever think of coming to the U.S. as immigrants.

Compare Canada with Mexico where the latter has a government monopolized justice system. What is needed in Mexico is a justice system similar to the U.S. Federal jury systems that will enable ordinary citizens of Mexico to get rid of their corrupt officials and send them to jail, too, like we do here in the U.S.

Mexico is a rich country with beautiful and intelligent people but what makes its people poor are its corrupt officials.

I request the reader of this comment to copy or forward it to their respective representatives in the U.S. Congress and to the President and ask them to act on the herein suggested immigration solution. If adopted as a U.S. foreign policy, there will be no need to build a very expensive wall at the border between Mexico and the United States like the way it is between Canada and the U.S.

This writer is a Filipino by birth, now a U.S. citizen. He recently prepared the Jury Systems Rules for the Philippines which he is recommending for promulgation by the Philippine Supreme Court. The books for the jury rules are still on their way for shipment. He would be happy to transmit by email a copy of his work to anyone who may be interested to ask for use as a template in recommending to his country for adoption.

Here is how you can fix the problem, may seem harsh but it will definately work.

Have to be citizen in country for 20 years before they can vote. - Stops the political rhetoric

Illegal entry will never allow lead to citizenship. - Stops the incentive

Revoke the welfare bill that somehow passed for illegals. - Stops the laziness

Offer a $500 bounty on each illegal found and deported by private enterprises. - Promotes business

All their belongings are sold or auctioned by local agencies. - Shows determination

Outsource prisons and locate them in guatamala - Installs fear into minds of illegals

National legislation to close businesses that violate and hire illegals - Enforces what we have with severe pain on shareholders

National legislation to confiscate property to those who lease or rent to illegals. - Shows the risk involved to those who are undecided about migrating to the US.

Allow immigrants to apply for citizen ONLY from embassy's located in THEIR country. - Give them a path and motive to do the right thing, expidite the process for skilled workers.

Default No harm done, but think about this...

Have to be citizen in country for 20 years before they can vote. - Stops the political rhetoric

So you are asking for 2nd class US citizens? Waiting 20 years with no rights?
You need to quit smoking that thing.

Illegal entry will never allow lead to citizenship. - Stops the incentive

I agree with you on that, Illegal is wrong and shouldn't be rewarded with a citizenship. No more amnesties, they havent work.

Revoke the welfare bill that somehow passed for illegals. - Stops the laziness

You are wrong. We have plenty of lazyness at home. We also know Illegals are getting benefits. Welfare needs a whole re design since is not reaching the goals it was created for.

Offer a $500 bounty on each illegal found and deported by private enterprises. - Promotes business

Bounty? You are funny. Private enterprises should go after business hiring Illegals and get the biggest fines on them. Deportation is too expensive, but if illegals cant get jobs they will return wherever they came from.

All their belongings are sold or auctioned by local agencies. - Shows determination

This may work as a deterrent and force the rest of them to go back. I agree.

Outsource prisons and locate them in guatamala - Installs fear into minds of illegals

I dont know where "Guatamala" is, but Guatemala dont have to deal with our problem, that will send out the wrong message. We need to fix the problem locally, not taking it away.

National legislation to close businesses that violate and hire illegals - Enforces what we have with severe pain on shareholders

Hats off, we finally agree on whats causing the problem. Shut them down and Illegals wont have a job anymore. As a result they will self-deport themselves.

National legislation to confiscate property to those who lease or rent to illegals. - Shows the risk involved to those who are undecided about migrating to the US.

Definately, whoever support or harbour Illegals should face the consequences as well.

Allow immigrants to apply for citizen ONLY from embassy's located in THEIR country. - Give them a path and motive to do the right thing, expidite the process for skilled workers.

It doesnt make any sense applying for citizen overseas. Based on what??
Is kinda like having a wife who lives in Mars.
Yeah, skilled workers are welcome. But we also need to update our education system in order to compete with other countries and hire Americans who are skilled instead foreigners willing to come here just because of work.

Have a great day and God bless America
