The 'prejudice' against the French has always bugged me: not so long ago many more American soldiers died at the hands of the Germans, Italians, Japanese and even the Vietnamese yet there is nowhere the hostility against the latter 4 groups of people.

American Francophobia is a UK import, which came to the US via the World Wars. Ironically it seems to be more common in the US than in the UK nowadays (except amongst football/soccer fans)
I do agree with you, though. I find it even odder that the Vietnamese, who have much more reason to hate America than any other nationality on the planet, generally don't and Vietnam is friendly with the US nowadays.

Yes it would! The Russian immigrant population in Brooklyn, NY is out off control. The money laundering going on here is unbelievable. We have more banks on each block than the Cayman Islands. They open businesses as a front for the money laundering operations. The local paper has more prostitution ads than the internet. There is also a ridiculous amount of pharmacies and medical centers due to the fact that they are milking Medicaid for prescription drugs and sending the drugs back to Russia, not to mention fraudulent accident claims and law suits. They do not assimiilate, do not have respect for this country and they are totally uncaring concerning environmental issues. I have no clue as to which ones are legally here, but I'm sure many are not. Many Russians lied to to gain access to benefits and charities by claiming that they were Jewish (when they actually were not) and facing persecution back home. They are the main reason that I am planning on leaving my neighborhood and NY. Sorry if anyone gets offended after reading this, but it is all true.

i knew it i knew it. all those guys wearing el gigante clothes speaking spanish and eating tortillas in front of home depot running up to contractor trucks in the parking lot, are actually russians.
