How do I propose to control the border, well an electrified fence would be a good start. If the East Germany can create an uncrossible wall in the 40's I'm sure we could whip something up in 2009.
.
Are you referring to the Berlin Wall?
Because it wasn't really uncrossable:
"In the West, the Berlin Wall was regarded as a major symbol of communist oppression. About 5,000 East Germans managed to escape across the Berlin Wall to the West, but the frequency of successful escapes dwindled as the wall was increasingly fortified. Thousands of East Germans were captured during attempted crossings and 191 were killed."

"In an attempt to escape and gain access to West Berlin a large network of tunnels were built. They were dug mostly by college students but many people used them."

Nothing is totally impervious: the Berlin Wall did its deadly work (keeping E Germans in)---------never mind that most Germans on both sides were against that series of fortifications.

"in 1962 on a second fence, parallel to the first but up to 100 yards further in. The area in between the two fences was demolished to create an empty space, which became widely known as "death strip" as it was here that many would-be escapers met their doom. The strip was covered with raked gravel, making it easy to spot footprints, it offered no cover, was mined and booby-trapped with tripwires and, most importantly, it offered a clear field of fire to the armed guards – who were instructed to shoot on sight."
It wasn't the wall doing the deadly work, it was the armed guards.

When discussing the Wall; I was referring to all of its means of 'defense'..........not just the physical barrier which could easily be surmounted if unmanned.

My point was that the effectiveness of the Berlin wall was due in large part to the armed guards shooting on sight.
The only way to control the illegals is to control their ability to earn money. Canada has a work permit law AND no one HAD BETTER BE CAUGHT hiring an alien who doesnt have the permit,,,ITs that simple.........but are we too stupid to see it? NO! We just have politicians who have been paid off and are corrupt .They know what Canada does but think we dont.
