Perhaps it's because NC pays one of the highest rates of unemployment so they can make a draw while illegally working under the table for someone else. Here's a phrase we should all learn..."No habla espanol". As for the "hardworkers" ha! 1st generation, yes. 2nd generation, go check out the gang activity in NM, AZ, TX, CA, FL, etc. Criminals who work and criminals who don't aren't REALLY that different. They just steal from you and your children in different ways.
Yet some Southerners still hold Yankees AKA fellow Americans in contempt due to something that happened before any of us were ever born. Memo to Johnny Reb (yes, I am of partial 'Southern' heritage who had direct ancestors fighting in the Civil War [Orange, Va]); the Yankees are not our enemies------------illegal aliens are the true carpetbaggers.

Grant them amnesty, and then see how hardworking they are. They really have no choice. The slaves also worked their butts off from dawn to dusk . . . under duress.

Space out a child every 5 years, why would they work? The tax payers will coddle each child until age 18. They don't need to make much once the door to social services is ripped open.

That’s why we need to end the obscene manipulation of the 14th Amendment. Their exploitation of their children is an absolute disgrace.

I also read that many “men” in Mexico had become so accustomed to receiving remittances from their illegal family in the U.S. that they were no longer interested in working. The article included photos of men and boys lounging during the day, or playing video games and drinking. Yet we are regaled with warm and fuzzy stories of their extraordinary work ethic.

Immigrant workers and their families, many undocumented, are now settling in rural poultry and meat packing towns in North Carolina and other Southern states. Once coaxed by poultry processing worker incentives and industry recruitment, they are now drawn by a word-of-mouth pipeline that has pumped thousands of immigrant families where there once were few. The result has been a tremendous cultural and social impact on rural towns. Classrooms are the epicenter of this change.

It’s like an untreated cancer. It just continues to spread.

The birth rates among the immigrants is mind-boggling. No wonder Latin America is so poor and over populated.

Sadly, unless we end this invasion, our country will soon be a replica.

I have seen how hard the legal migrants worked in Florida, and AZ. I am all for legals. But, the US needs to limit how many people come in and drain the system just because they have a good sob story.
