Also, there are no spanish groupds in this country. There are spanish groups in Spain. No group claimed victory. I know who you mean, but they only have a handful of members and one website. More like a local senior club.

I know enough about La Raza (NCLR) to know that Janet Murguia attempted to limit the number of black immigrants in this country. I only wish I had saved the letter in which she implored Congress to consider her request. It was astonishing, and quite hypocritical. I am very sorry for people that talk about other human beings with hate, hate is what consumes their lives, while the vast majority of their anglo counterparts laugh at them, not to mention people from other races, in my case I've thrived in the usa against most odds, while I see so many decrepit, sad people wasting their lives, whininng, complaining and hating others, I know they will never learn......
Anglo here in the Southwest refers to any non Hispanic White person--------even a Spanish surnamed Brit, Italian, etc. I definitely qualify as such despite being maybe 25% English heritage at most. Suffice to say: my original surname name sounded 'Hispanic' and I was asked to produce ID to prove at DMV (by a Mestizo employee) who I was one time since I am quite Nordic in appearance.
PS: my stepsisters; definitely Anglo of Irish/Italian heritage look like typical Latinas. OTOH: I knew a Scots-Irish family back east; 100% Anglo culturally i.e. Presbyterian, English speaking, Irish surname, did not know what Mexican food was, etc. who also looked 'Latino'----------their paternal grandmother was a 'brown' Mexican and the mother may have been a Latina as well. Suffice to say: the four daughters were just as 'Latina' in appearance as my stepsisters.
Okay, I know we are off topic but where does the line stop when it comes to ethnicity? I bet the English do not consider you "Anglo". Even if you had 25% blood of English heritage, I dont think blood has anything to do with being of a specific ethnicity, just my opinion. Both my parents are Mexican but if you ask Mexicans in Mexico, (if they knew I was born here in the US) they would tell you I am American. Two different ethnicities...Mexican and Mexican-American and that is just within one generation difference.
Anyway, back on topic.
Since Lou is now saying he is Latino's greatest friends, I say he is going for the Latino vote.
