Help ! I'm moving to Evansville ,IN

For a typical family using 3,ooo gallons of city water and associated city sewage, here are the current charges including sales tax:


Henderson (within city limits or service area)- $29.57


Evansville (within city limits)- $50.62, assumes 1" water meter


In addition, Evansville Water & Sewer Utility's rates will increase several more times in the next few years to pay for converting the combined storm/sanitary sewers into separate underground pipes to comply with environmental discharge regulations. EW&S services Vanderburgh County residents outside the city limits and these customers pay even higher rates.


I'm not sure about future rate increases for Henderson Water Utility, because I live in Evansville, but they've been pro-active in the last decade dealing with combined sewer overflow and replacing the pipes. Evansville has ignored the problem since it was first regulated by the EPA in the 1970s, and now we pay the piper.
