Good time to lock in these interest rates for shorter term income.

There is much gnashing of teeth over at r/dividends.

What does it matter how long they were open? They were open long enough to be profitable trades.

Well I included why it matters in the post, your activity is inconsistent with your call

Really? I called for a market drop on 9/21 and have been making money shorting stocks ever since then.
Do you want to re-think your statement?

I’m not familiar with that forum but I can only imagine. The suddenness and severity of these drops in many of these names hasn’t been seen since March 2020 and only occurs once every 4-5 years on average.

There are a few disciplined long-time dividend investors there but they are outnumbered by a young bunch who chase the highest yielders and who feel betrayed by the drop in the share prices. Some have mentioned that they are unloading to reevaluate the whole dividend portfolio idea. Who'd have ever thunk that a portfolio of 100% JEPI yielding 10% could lose value?

And still 3,000 points away from your 3rd attempt at a correct prediction. We're going to need a lot more red Friday's!

Likely a lot more pain ahead for dividend stocks too if rates continues to rise.
