I’ve only worked for a single company in my professional career and it’s cost me money. I have plenty of money now and will sufficiently reach my retirement goals before I exit my 40s

Again... it's NOT JUST ABOUT THE MONEY. You seem to be missing that item.

You must have misread my post because I clearly demonstrate in the post you quoted that’s it’s not all about the money for me

This thread really makes my brain hurt, but without looking at each day since the call, it seems like this call was made pretty close to the very short term bottom.

Dow closed 9-21 at 34,070, currently at 33,849

S&P closed 9-21 at 4,330, currently at 4,379

Nasdaq closed 9-21 at 13,223, currently at 13,642

The numbers mean nothing, and nobody knows what the markets are going to do in the short term, but here's to hoping this short call works out EXACTLY like the last one.

Let's be fair to beergeek here, however. I only follow the DOW, and the call was made at the market open:

DJIA is at 34,440
as I type this and could easily be below 30,000 by 1/1/24. Let's see what happens.

So we are still down a bit from 34,440.

the dow includes no dividends in the raw numbers , those gains can be as much as 10%-15% higher then the number suggests

I was never IN a rat race. I loved my job and the people I worked with. I planned my retirement around my FRA and my pension date. I am happy and I am certainly enjoying it. But I’d be lying to say that I was miserable working. The difference for me is, I get to spend my time doing what I want now, and not having to get up early to work for someone else. My time is my own. I still continue friendships with the people I worked with. They are still very much a part of my life.
