I have heard that it was a long process to get a government job...not all that surprised it took 5 months, but a little amazed they are ever able to hire anyone with that kind of delay!
1st interview was 9/25 and 2nd interview was 10/25. I was sure I was no longer being considered after hearing nothing 3 weeks after the first interview.
This was the job you figured you were not going to get?
Sp glad you hung in there....
Yeah I started a thread about the long hiring process and how the Hurricane delayed the hiring process. If it wasn't for the Hurricane I may have been working before Thanksgiving or before December.
Wow. Seems to not be uncommon with government jobs.
I applied to one in June, left it for dead, and in October they called me for an interview.
That's why it's so important to keep a job search journal so you can go back to what you applied to when you get those unexpected calls. At the time they called I was looking to hear back from someone else and was like.........Wait I applied for this 8 weeks ago.
I was always sure that if you send a resume to a job opening and you hear nothing after 2 weeks then they were not interested.
You better be at work on time or you'll lose this job, too.
Keep your mouth shut about non-work related issues.
I have my own office so there is no one to talk to during the day unless i see a client or talk to my direct supervisor. And I'm up at 7am and out of the door by 8:30am so i can make sure I;m there before 9am.
So, now that you have a regular income stream coming in we won't have to do dutch for our first date.
I can't even date until February because it takes a month to get set back right lol
