Manor Oaks.

We lived on the poor side of Crysler my first seven years. At least some of the Manor Oaks neighborhood was in the Raytown School District because I later visited school friends in that neighborhood.

Hi everyone. As many know, I've been on this group for quite some time and it's been great talking about and learning about the history of Independence. I wanted to share my own bit of history as well. I put my name in the running for Jackson County Executive. It's an exciting experience. I am far from a politician and more like one of the people..and I think that's why I'm different than most that normally run. I thought I'd share with everyone the news.

My wife spent a few years living in Manor Oaks. Her sister went to Chrisman when they lived there; however, her father owned land in Independence and that is why she could go to Chrisman.

My wife says that Doug and Drew Dimmel went to Van Horn. The Dimmels lived near the corner of Newberry and 35th Street. I dated a young lady who lived on Markham and she went to Northeast. I had never heard that Raytown covered any in Manor Oaks, but then it makes no sense to me that Dimmels went to Van Horn and Susan Deal went to Northeast.

Here is one of many sites online about Drew Dimmel:
