Yes, chains are typically awful and bad for local business, but there are a few brands I can't help but like. Potbelly is finally coming to KC, which makes me a happy camper. I've long like Cosi, available on the east coast, but not available in KC, they make terrific salads and I've always liked their flatbread sandwiches.

I've heard good things about Whataburger and their ads during Big 12 games always make me hungry.

What other chains would you like to see come to KC?

Inn n Out. Was really happy to see they opened a Sprouts Farmers market in Johnson County.

I take it you've eaten at an In-N-Out?

The most over-rated and over-hyped food chain in the history of man. Kansas City will be vastly underwhelmed if it ever comes your way.

15-20 years ago, I probably would say Planet Hollywood or Hard Rock Cafe :P

We totally missed the boat on that opportunity.

I grew up in Los Angeles, where you can't swing a dead cat without hitting an In 'n' Out, and I agree they are overrated. I'd love to see Wahoo's Fish Tacos. That's a California surf tradition, and their Maui Bowl is perfection.

...mmmmmm...Maui Bowl....

20 years ago I would have said Starbucks. Now we have them everywhere!

I am positive that there was an In N Out in Roeland Park for a short time quite a few years ago - I'd say late 80s maybe. It was a little narrow building that was drive through only and I think it had drive throughs on both sides of the building. I remember it distinctly. It wasn't there a long time before it closed. It might have been the building where Taco Bell is now, but I really think it was the building to the north of it, which is T-Mobile now. Does anyone else remember it? I remember it. My husband remembers it. If you search Google for Quik Trip in Roeland Park and drag the guy over for the street view, you can look across the street and go north down Roe and see what buildings I am talking about. I remember it like it was yesterday. Seems like no one else has any recollection of that place but it was definitely there!

Whataburger....see commercials for them everytime I watch a Big12 game, but I don't believe there are any in KC. I've never had it before, so couldn't tell you if it's any good....

Sorry, didn't see OP already had whataburger
