Some go quickly depending on the owners mortgage situation. If only one loan can be quickly. If a second mortgage is on there, home equity loan, paper was sold repeatedly, etc... it gets more difficult to get a quick answer.

One closed down here, cash buyer in 29 days. Got the answer, buyer brought cash, closed 7 days after approval. If it takes 2 months to get the approval, thrown in the 45 days to close, time adds up fairly quickly.

We are moving out now, but the short sale was started mid April (already had a buyer). B/A told them last week that their counter offer was accepted and gave them a verbal approval. They are waiting for the confirmation letter to submit to their lender. It looks like it will close by the end of July to maybe mid August.

We made the move from Vegas to SD a month and a half ago. Vegas did become home to us after spending over 5 years there but we can already tell that the children will do so much better here. We are in temporary housing in RPQ and will be in renting Poway in August. We started our SS in May and hope it goes through quickly. Congrats!

We gave Vegas 15 years and recently returned to SoCal. We planned to retire in NV, but when the cons far outweighed the pros, we knew it was time to leave. Being close to family is more important. I never felt at home in Las Vegas but I miss my job driving the back roads of Nevada. I met some quirky characters along the way, that's for sure.

I live in Chicago and am in my last year of law school. Im considering either finishing my last semester at UNLV or in DC which is where I am from. I want something new and love visiting vegas but is it stupid to move across the country with no connections and hope that I can network and find work during my last 4 months in law school? Any input would be helpful.

I doubt it would make sense to move since you're so close to finishing school. It might depend on what type of law. There seems to be a shortage of competent securities attorneys in Vegas.

I'd finish school first. Makes no sense to transfer now.
