^^^16 years here, and never personally experienced crime. I even go to bed with my french doors on my patio wide open. I live in Spring Valley. Just don't go walking around the Stratosphere at midnight and you'll be fine.

So as far as the job market, how are the jobs in healthcare (yes, using a 4 yr degree and more)....Also can teach at the community college with a Masters degree. What is the situation as far as employment for folks who are well-educated?

I agree with tony soprano's comment a couple of pages back to the OP. On a side note, it is a fact that many young people make big ticket decisions (wedding, sex, pregnancy, relocation, loans, for example) without solid footing on their own. Who gets to help them; well at least the OP is reaching out for assistance (be it just asking advise or just ranting and ventilating and need someone to respond out of an inner/hidden dependency trait) in this forum. I believe that asking advise from experienced folks, many of which are in these forums, but not following up on the good advise is self defeating.

2 cents: If you plan to not sign that lease (which is a good half of an advise, since the other half should include a plan on what to do next), calm your feelings down and get help on finding out why you make big decisions that you end up with big time negative feelings about.

Many people (including me) have not felt LV to be "home". It is how we realize our expectations (mightily high or humbly low) and adjust them to fit our "needs" that often gives a solution that tends to be long lasting.

Good luck OP, maturity is a long process unfortunately and you are in the mix of it. I'd say "don't give up" but that's also just half of a good comment (the rest is up to you).

I guess the thing to do is try to make the best of it no matter where you move to. Join some meetup.com groups and find people that share your interests. Do you like books? I may be starting a book group locally were we can swap books. Probably combine it with another group we already have where we meet once a month for a potluck picnic. Like that idea?
