like if you were to go to social function but did not want to walk around with a hook on your arm. instead you would go with a nonfunctional but aesthetic prosthesis.

Have you ever heard of the phrase "No money no honey"?. I don't know what kind of IT work you actually do but most people in IT are fairly smart people and common sense tell me that smart people don't seek personal advises from internet forums.

Not sure if it's always a positive correlation computer skills and social skills.

The post has strayed into a variety of issues not completely relevant to my original post, which related to home prices in Lake Las Vegas and dating very beautiful women with little vocation or skill set.

My question was completely legit if uncomfortable for some: Are the stunning party girl type of women in Vegas expecting financial assistance from their mates? There is a real difference, in my mind, between being a gentleman of means footing the bill for a nice time and being a giftdaddy, and even worse a sugardaddy.

I now know the answer to the aforementioned.

I don't work in IT (I work in accounting) and consider fairly intelligent (don't let my typos fool ya! ). I have asked questions on personal issues on forums before. It's fun to get responses from a wide variety of people and see angles to your problem you may never have thought of.

Isn't that what message boards were invented for? Well, beyond the age-old question of A/S/L?

I would tend to agree that the verity and quality of answers on free-for-all internet forums vary greatly.

For example:

If you were to ask where is a good steakhouse on a forum that catered to cigar smoking men you would get one location...if you were to ask this same question on a site that caters to women who work as childcare providers you would likely get another.

Ok, but what tickles me is answers like: You should not eat steak, you should eat a hamburger...or why do you want to eat steak?...or a good hot dog can be found at Sammy's...or fish is healthier than steak..or have you tried carna asada...or even you are a bad person for eating meat complete with a picture of a cow being slaughtered.

There is a lot of chaff to sift through.

Well, based on OP's question, at least nobody has advised him to ditch women entirely, move to San Francisco, and play for the other team.

I know I have no skin in this game, so to speak , but it's interesting to see what comes up at the top of the forums pages sometimes, so....

First, thank you for your service, even without the uniform. I have a friend who is working in a civilian capacity over in Afghanistan and I can appreciate the sacrifice that he is making as well.

Regarding finding "hot" women, you can find them all day at the casino pools or all night at the nightclubs. Rent a cabana or get bottle service and you're good. Off-Strip, you might meet some at the gym where they work to maintain said "hotness" or perhaps popular local watering holes. (Actual locals would probably have to help you with the watering holes although East Fremont wouldn't be a bad place to start.)

Now, if your focus on impressing these ladies relies on your flashing your insurance settlement, chances may be against you finding a lady of particular substance.

More stream of consciousness: I'm sure there has to be an equivalent of Patty Stanger - the "Millionaire Matchmaker" - plying their trade in Vegas. Even if you worked with someone a step down from that level, you should still have enough to invest so you don't have to throw the proverbial dart from behind VIP at Pure or Wet Republic.

Only way to know for sure is to have him take a pic holding up his username in the hand - which is black connected to a white arm
