Good grief, I already posted the truth on the matter a couple of posts ago. The work force shrinking which produces fake lower unemployment numbers does NOT mean people are getting back to work. This article is a few month old, but it will explain it better than I can.

Maybe you haven't been keeping up with the news:

LVD, posting from the VERY partisan freedomworks will prevent you from the facts... it is not the "truth" you claim it is. If you look into Friday's unemployment report, you will see that the participation rate INCREASED. Not only that, but the U-6 number (a misery index that measures people who have fallen off of unemployment and the under-employed, part-time, etc.) actually FELL. Your link is both old and inaccurate.

So you are claiming the bls, or more appropriately bs is telling the truth? Sorry, but anything the corporate owned government reports is bs in my opinion. The economy sucks, and it will continue to do so unless the stranglehold on it is released.

When you get your news from freedomworks, which was created by two conservative republicans (one of whom is regarded as "the mastermind of the Tea Party") and post it here as "truth", you have to see that there are biases clouding your judgement of the facts.

A majority (but not all) of the indicators over the last couple months for both the country (and more specifically, Las Vegas) have ALL been trending in a positive direction... employment numbers, population increase, visitor numbers, gaming revenue, hotel occupancy, hotel rates, new construction projects, etc. The numbers don't lie... no matter how much you wish they did. These reports are unrelated and not all "government" reported. Why all the relentless pessimism?

After more research, tell me how outdated all these links are from February 2012? I follow the more truthful alternative news, so here you go....

More like realism. Any so called improvement on the economy has been brought on by money printing, not real prosperity. Here is a reality check for you:

"Not so fast. Those that are publicly declaring that an economic recovery has arrived are ignoring a whole host of numbers that indicate that the U.S. economy is in absolutely horrendous shape. The truth is that the health of an economy should not be measured by how well the stock market is doing. Rather, the truth health of an economy should be evaluated by looking at numbers for things like jobs, housing, poverty and debt."

Not So Fast On That Whole Economic Recovery Thing

Oh, puh-leeze!

Why do you constantly post OPINION pieces (not economic reports) from scaremongering websites that are selling goods? I mean really, the title of that websites literally says "The Economic Collapse
Are You Prepared For The Coming Economic Collapse And The Next Great Depression?"

Give me a break!

Do you read any reputable news sites that don't have an agenda of their own?

I didn't read the entire thread, so I'm sorry if I missed your post.

However, I do know that "facts" can be made to support any idea. I'm more inclined to believe what you've posted, than what others have posted though.

After not working in the city I live in for over 3 years, I'm a little jaded to the problem. When a company can lay off over 3,000 people in one single day because "they felt like it", I get steaming mad.

Construction is what made Vegas great (No casino's without people to build them), yet it seems like we're the ones who always get shat on. If the building would continue (There are some big jobs starting up), and more construction workers had employment they could count on, the problems of Vegas would fix themselves.

By reputable, what exactly do you mean? Corporate [mod cut-- language] media is not reputable as they always spin the news to bow down to their corporate sponsers. Please do not tell me that CNN, FOX, NBC, ABC or CBS are reputable, ok?
