Monterey, California - my hometown
I try to go back at least three times a year. I like to do the whale watching, visit the ever expanding aquarium.....love love taking a little drive down the coast and visiting Big Sur.
Also, visiting the antique shops in Carmel, not it my price range, but I love to look!
Favorite resturant........FISHERMANS GROTTO on the Wharf!! YUMMY
I also love Sea Lions, once in a while its gets so heavy with them, they actaully find their way to the roadways....local fishermans nightmares..LOL

Visited Monterey and Carmel on one of my many trips to SF. Loved it! Shame it is outrageously expensive to live or even shop there. Very cool though and worth a visit. Went to Hearst Castle too.

I lived in the Bay Area - San Francisco, for one year. Lovely place, but not much fun as wages are certainly not compareable to the cost of living.

Moved from Austin, Tx and I don't miss it!!! Poor highway design makes traffic horrible and it's the lowest paying metro city in the state! Only affordable housing is far away from downtown, meaning you will have an hour and a half drive to work. It was fun when I was in college, though!
