Hey Vegas, how does the entertainment capital of the world think about it's Eastern Twin Sister of Dubai? Do you think one is more inferior to the other, and if so how? Please no fighting.. just a serious question I wanted to ask. Thanks

So.....no drinking in public, no sex with anyone other than your wife, no revealing clothing for women, no photography....and their buildings look like they were made out of Legos.

Vegas wins!

Ignorant and close minded society, if Dubai is trying to entice people to visit then first they should stop shoving their ideologies on others especially visitors. I get it, people should respect other people's culture but to punish a visitor for showing affection in public is not what I would call an open society. People from all over the world come to Vegas and are accepted in Vegas for as long as they do not commit illegal activity or have no intention of harming others.

Do you know how contract workers and visitors are treated in the Middle East? Some of the most condescending and arrogant people in the world are in the Middle East, thanks but no thanks.

I have a family that works at the front desk of a large hotel here in town, my family member and her co-workers dread dealing with Middle Easterners when they stay at their hotel because of their abusive and condescending character. For a few years once a year there used to be a concert of artists from the Middle East coming to Vegas, it is no longer an event in town, it was during this time when the Strip saw an influx of visitors from the Middle East and people of Middle Eastern descent.

I have been to that region(UAE, Dubai,Qatar) about a dozen times. Vegas has nothing to worry about. All the above posts are dead on about the restrictions and freedoms of those countries.

The man-made islands and soon to be under water hotel may be the only major tourists attraction that LV can not compete with.

No city competes directly with Vegas. Can't believe how many people don't understand this or refuse to accept it. In the same regard there are some places Vegas can't go out and compete with either. It goes both ways.

The only thing that Dubai has going for it is this: Exclude the Americas and Dubai is basically the center of the world. Anyone can get there in a reasonable amount of time. But so what? Buy the designer handbags and watches online and save the plane trip. Dubai only "competes" as a shopping destination. And even then, it's not all that.
