To some people (like myself) bad weather DOES automatically mean cold. There is nothing bad about the heat as for a s I am concerned, extreme or otherwise.

You do? That's weird. I have never seen a movie in a casino. I have only been to standalone theaters. But I guess if you WANT to walk through a casino, that's fine, too..

But I love the heat. I.E. I love 115. I am the guy that drove out to Death Valley a couple of years ago when it was supposed to break the 129 degree record. I was very disappointed when it only hit 122.

110 temps are bad when you cant even walk you pets because the pavement is scorching.
or you have to carry around sunscreen because the sun rays are deadly. on the east coast I never needed sun screen. And if you have allergies its a health risk living here between april and june. the pollen is crazy!

I cant take off my skin when its 100 degrees, but if its 20 degrees I can keep warm.

I 100% agree. We moved TO. THE. DESERT. because we enjoy heat! If I enjoyed snow, I would move to the NorthEast. If I enjoyed humidity, I would move to the Gulf Coast. If I enjoyed damp fog, I would move to the SoCal coast. If I enjoyed rain, I would move to the Pacific Northwest.

Wow, sounds like you made some really bad decisions when you weighed all of your options, and picked Las Vegas as the place you wanted to live.. Might want to do some better planning prior to your next move.

You still have time to pick another location to move to, I would think about it. I was in the same position about a year ago. Our family was moving out of the the NE and looking for somewhere to move to. I read a lot of the comments on this forum. I read the negative comments but thought it can't be that bad...I mean I love vacationing in Las Vegas so its got to be great to live there. The first couple months were great overall...with exception of the non-stop money grab from every company you deal with, be prepared for deposits for everything. Also as mentioned be prepared for vehicle registration. So again the first couple months we explored the Strip and off-strip. We also explored much of the area including Red Rock, depending where you are from this might be impressive, having lived in many states with amazing outdoor scenery this was not impressive. After a couple months the Strip got old quick. Now nearly at 10 months after moving here and working here I'm burnt out.

Las Vegans know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

Explicit enough for ya?
Given those 3 choices as a permanent residence, I would choose Vegas over SB or Maui. I am not a fan of the beach or island life though. Visiting for a week or 2, I am cool with that, but permanent residence on an island is not what some people think it is all cracked up to be.

You ever been to the drive in?
Did you have to drive through a casino to get there?
Did you even know that there was such a thing?

The problem is people in Las Vegas aren't saving as much as they think they are. High gas prices, high cooling costs in summer and water prices that will continue to go higher and higher. Add in the lower than average pay for many jobs...if you work in a casino add in the possible health issues from air quality. You also have to look at the statistics that show Las Vegas as AVERAGE when it come to cost of living.
