I've been letting it run for about an hour now, on max speed.

500 years, I'm down 98,000 dollars.

Now that the payout is over a billion!!!!, more people than ever will flock to the borders and the lines may be longer than ever. Nevada needs to get their heads out of their butts and approve a lottery already!!! Would definitely save on gas having it local. But until they do, if they ever do, probably not, because of the greedy casinos, then we will all still drive to the border. If they build a wall to keep us in, we will climb over it. If they add barbed wire to it, we will dig under it. They can't keep us from what we all really want. Plus it would help schools and so much more. Much needed money for the state.

So if you guys win the lottery do you have to pay state tax in the state you bought the ticket in, or nowhere?

I always think it would be fun to win the powerball (well, to be fair any lottery) in the US as an English man. We don't pay no stinking taxes! (On gambling at least!)

Lottery machines run from 5am to 11pm daily in most places.....

Depends.......TX, FL don't have income taxes. NH doesn't either but they do tax gambling winnings 10% (Ouch). CA has income tax but doesn't tax lottery winnings.

Interestingly enough the withholding is 25-28% of the jackpot but you owe 39.6% so I wonder if someone would take the risk to try to beat the IRS out of the 117 million! (14.6% of 806 jackpot cash value = 117.6 million). Of course you would have to leave the US but for some that wouldn't be an issue. You would have a 15 month lead on the IRS (taxes due April 2017) but with extensions filed you might be able to stretch it out another couple years.

Me personally.........couldn't be bothered scheming! Pay up and enjoy life!

Given that those dealers are the closest for a city of two million people, that otherwise isn't served, they're probably generating a huge number of tickets.
