Entire state WRECKED and 144-255 bodies with underlying causes to count. Entire economies, destroyed. 255. Maybe. CDC SAYS 144.

Turd immunity. Don't worry boys. We're opening back up in a matter of days. Heck you can go outside and do lots of things already. The Cruise Ships are opening back up this summer. Their new slogan, "Come die with us " Corona Cruises. Same with these Nightclubs. Gonna be Corona Clubs.

The governor can't do a full blown, no-strings re-open until there is strong scientific consensus that it can be done safely.
You don't understand how things work in this state. That is understandable, as you see it only as a tourist. One day a casino executive will call the governor and say 're-open the state', and then the state will re-open.

quickly disavowed by the White House and CDC who want to bury such frightening forecasts
So the CDC has now been politicized? I can see why you are so frightened.

Since you claim to be "from back east" and given that someone moved my Nevada Hospital Association post out of the Las Vegas forum even though I specifically discussed Clark County, the county in which Las Vegas is located, I thought you might like to read the following article which I also shared in that post. It is from the chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital in The Bronx which was posted on the New York Post website a week ago. It's an excellent read especially for those who support indefinite lockdowns which is the camp I suspect you reside in.

An understandable error. Not everyone knows that Las Vegas is in Clark County.

The governor is in the hot seat, he has the sworn duty to protect the people in the state, casino profits be damned. The governor can't do a full blown, no-strings re-open until there is strong scientific consensus that it can be done safely. Once he uncorks this genie it's not going back in the bottle.

MY reality is that this thing can and will kill both my wife and I, and no amount of gun waving "protestors" at any state house is going to move my thinking, nor should it move anyone else's view of the danger.
You’re interpretation of things is flat out wrong. Both in terms of danger presented and in terms of what the Governor can and will do.

Things will reopen with mostly unenforceable social distancing and safety practices in place. Same thing as in California. It was inevitable. You can’t keep people in their homes for months on end when there’s no visible danger. Every single governor knew this would happen...people going out and ignoring the stay in place orders. They were gonna get 4-6 weeks and then the floodgates would open. That’s exactly what happened.

Btw driving a car can kill you too.

I hadn't thought about this but you are so right. Looking online it appears around 40-50k die each year in US from car accidents. What do people do are really scared of that risk? They stay home or at least they don't ride in cars.

There are a few businesses in AZ who are defying the Governor's orders and they're willing to accept whatever fines just to stay open.

More businesses need to do that!

Go ahead and open and a recent poll (The Week magazine) is saying 80% of Americans think it's too soon to re-open. So what does that tell you? And then there's the pandemic extremists who are not going to go to any business that opens until a vaccine arrives. My cousin and wife won't even visit me again until there's a vaccine. And there's lots of those kind of people out there!
