US medical agencies should be using CDC testing and reporting guidelines which should be fairly consistent within the US.

However, internationally a different test is being used and the testing and reporting procedures will vary by country and possibly even within each country. So, I don't believe US result numbers are necessarily comparable to other countries.

Buffets are in the news today with all 250 of Sweet Tomatoes locations closing across the country. I never ate at their salad buffets anyways even with their weekly coupons. The news is questioning if buffets will make it or not. The Casino Buffets better make a reopening. Vegas needs those gems like Wicked Spoon and Bacchanal Buffet or Bellagio and Wynn buffets. Some of the best.
Hot Pot restaurants (except for Red Pot) generally bring your ingredients to your
table so it's more like a cook your own food at your own table thing. Granted, I've only
tried Red Pot and Swish so far in Las Vegas. Red Pot will have to make some significant
changes to their model to reopen.

I heard about Sweet Tomatoes and that really saddens me. That is absolutely one of the
healthiest buffet options that Las Vegas has to offer and a great option for vegetarians.
I was looking forward to putting that on my weekly meal rotation on my summer move
to Vegas.

Buffets will definitely be back but it might take some time and adjustments until we have a
vaccine option. (and a few different variants of operating models)
I find myself in the minority I guess in that I think my odds of getting this from
a buffet or restaurant even as they currently operate as low. I'd even be fine with the current seating
at table games if people just wore basic surgical masks...don't really think the plexiglass or
reduced seating does much besides visuals.

They should. I am sure they don't.

Or wear antibody bracelets so you're good and don't need a mask.

If you like Vegetarian we've got a phenomenal Vegan and Veggie Scene here! Wynn Hotel for starters and a dozen others have popped up with revitalization. They're really good and they have special events like brown bag special event with special menus and you have to buy tickets online. There's enough for a community. I'd like to see it grow to like the SF restaurant scene options.

Oh well this is Vegas. We can take short flights to Cali for lunch or dinner or weekenders for some Vitamin Sea! Personally I'd like to spend all my time in Napa Valley but sadly I never get invited to any wine caves.

I think another reason why Asians (in Asia) wear masks is due to all the pollution there

Oh really? You can substantiate that I guess?

My point was that they wear masks to prevent contracting disease, as (most) are doing here now.

Any other Asian stereotypes you'd like to explore?

No doubt there is pollution. ( But come to think of it, the areas I visited were pristine as compared to my then-home town of LA). But, as an example, the very efficient and excellent public transportation system there can get REALLY crowded, as is Tokyo in general.

So more than being worried about pollutants, (which I'm sure they do) I should think prevention from transmitting disease in such close quarters prompts the wearing of masks.

Speak of the devil. A new vegan sushi restaurant from SF opened during the pandemic in Las Vegas.

This just popped up in my news feeds

If you're up for meeting, I'd be happy to go with you when I'm in town again in
either June or July. I do eat meat but only chicken and turkey. There was an interesting
Ethiopian place I tried awhile back that was mostly vegetarian. I can't remember the name
of it now though...somewhere off Flamingo on the West side of town. It might no
longer be there...was probably 3 years ago I tried it.

Thanks for the heads-up on this new place.
