WOODSTOCK for the 21st Century.......
Actually I lived in upstate NY and my wife and I turned down going to Woodstock because the weather looked like it was going to stink and who wants to be stuck in an upstate field with thousands of people in the rain?

But I remember...Gimme an F...gimme a U...gimme... a C...or something like that.

So, having missed the pinnacle I am certainly not going to settle for a rank amateur.

(I am also too old - one tab of this ecstasy stuff and I would likely pass over)

Default From the Ridiculous to the sublime

OK guys they want to make me Bionic...well at least a little.

They want me to wear this gizmo on my leg just below the knee that will trigger the ankle muscle to stop my foot drop.

A $150 worth of electronics and an AA battery.

$5,000.00

Can try it for two weeks for $400.

Quick trial the damn thing works. Though how well over a period of time is hard to tell. But if it does work it has a real upside.. The muscle gets stronger and you can get rid of it.

Darn... No foot drop or ten days in Puerto Vallarta...Sheeesh.

One things' for sure... I hope the damn Cosmopolitan tumbles...and I was their biggest cheerleader (ashamed).. Heard a rumor though... Cuts are imminent in Food and Beverage there next month.....
A rumor is just a rumor. My hours at the pool have increased greatly over the past 3 weeks, Im up to 30 a week now. According to my managers they are creating a new position at the pool, combining the Gourmet Vendor and Cabana Host positions into the 'Pool Host' position. The high ups approved it, that was 3 or 4 weeks ago, now just waiting to start that, in the meantime I'm mainly doing pool deck duties. As long as I get at least 25 hrs a week, my gf and I will be ok financially in our new apt (we will also be paying our rent one week early)

Airics, I consider you a very lucky man. You seem to have no trouble finding jobs (and getting callbacks) at all these big casinos like the M and Venetian. When the Cosmopolitan hired me I felt very discouraged and felt I would NEVER get a job on the strip ANYWHERE. I feel it was a divine miracle they hired me. I have applied for various other positions with MGM, Caesars, as well as Sands, to no avail. I'm either not qualified or I apply and I never hear from them again.

I passed my 90 days at the Cosmopolitan with flying colors, my management loves my work ethic, and once I hit 6 months (September) I'm transferring to the first position I can find inside the hotel or the Casino. Call me pessimistic but I feel that if I let the Cosmopolitan go, I'll never work on the strip ever again and be doomed to make $8.25 an hour at 15 hours a week in retail for the rest of my life.

I'm still a cheerleader for the Cosmopolitan, but I do see some of the frustration of my CoStars there. I truly believe it will succeed, and I hope I can succeed with them

Airics, congrats on your new job at the M, I wish you all the luck in the world there

thanks davey... the pool host position is what i was talking about... that equals cuts... they will take the gourmet vendor and cabana host and pick the very best.. the rest get cut... when you go into peoples they will try to force you to sign a resignation letter... whatever you do, don't EVER sign it..

am i discouraged with the Cosmo... yes..... am i angry at the Cosmo... yes..... would I ever work there again... NO..... It's not that they let me go... It's how they did it...

when I returned to the M yesterday... Honest to God, I was shocked how i was treated... So many knew me and gave me hugs, handshakes, etc.. It felt good to be HOME. If I am offered a job at the Venetian, they will have to work around my schedule at the M.

I'm not worried about being cut. They know I want to work. A lot of lifeguards are quitting as well. I think the way the Cosmo is run has something to do with it not being union

What did you mean when you said its "how they did it" Why exactly did you leave. I asked for you last week in the cage, they said you had left, this one girl Clarissa said you were a good guy

You know what Davie, you are like a squirrel that will just not quit until he gets his nut. I admire that as I always give up way before that. Best of luck to you. No matter what life throws at you, I can tell you will always land on your feet.

I like to think of myself as Tommy Lee Jones in the Fugitive, or US Marshals when it comes to never wanting to quit

Angry So MAD we could spit fire . /rant/

got up this morning and turned our A/C off. it usually stays cool in the condo until 3ish. so we keep it off until then.
when it warms, it takes about 10 minutes of A/C to cool it again until after 7pm or so when the power goes to off-peak.

this morning, while sipping coffee on the balcony, i notice a uniformed A/C tech service my downstairs neighbor's A/C unit.

i didn't pay much attention until i went to turn the air on for a bit at 230pm. and there is no cool air coming out of the vents.

go down to the unit to inspect and my a/c fuse box is missing its fuse!!!

go talk to the neighbor and he says that they indeed received service and they replaced the filter and a 'loose wire'. and that the bill was given to his landlord.

i'd bet my right arm, my fuse is in their box.

i have a call into the tech shop. we'll see what they have to say.

i'm going to try to find a fuse and put a frickin lock on the box.

GGGGGRRRRRRR
