My family has one of those PUR water filters on the tap. I don't really know if it's any good health-wise but it tastes okay.

She is OK and going strong - but he is well into dementia and does not have the capacity to deal with it. So we have a basically empty house with this poor old man and his dog living their without electricity or really any services.

The family is keeping him supplied and fed but it has to come to an end within days. We are checking on the house periodically and the grandkid hits it once a day at least.

She can't help him as he has gotten out of control and she can't deal with it.

They are trying to find him a suitable institution but it will be hard...and he will have to part with the dog...which will likely throw him over the edge.

Damn things can go south when you get old...
Have them contact the Lou Ruvo institute. There are support groups available and the members will know much about available resources. What kind of dog needs to be fostered?

Delurking to say that the tap water here in San Francisco is very high quality, equivalent to bottled water at least as far as the flavor is concerned. You really can't tell the difference.
San Francisco Public Utilities Commission : Drink Tap Water

As long as I'm here, I'd like to say that I have read this entire thread from page one and have enjoyed following the adventures of those who post here. I don't post myself because I have no connection with LV other than having visited once and having a relative who is a home builder here. Carry on!
