Well two retinal tears. You know that bit about multiple opinions? And thinking about the way to proceed. The standard here is you may take two days to make up your mind but in the mean time your retina falls off and you go blind.

So we did the right thing and had our retinal tears whacked with the laser.

There are worse procedures...but this one is on the hard side. Thirty seconds before he finished I was considering whether I could jump from the gurney and throttle him before he did it again. He however knew this and kept up a steady chant of "breath deeply...look far up to the right...further"

About the time the desire to maim him became overpowering he announced he was done.

Anyway I can see about as good as I could before. I think the laser stuff was short lived I just had to outwait the dilation.

Going out in the morning and brutalize weeds until I feel more human.
I agree, it sucks to get old. I am 34 now and also am starting to get back problems. I almost had to take off work recently because I could not stand up straight without being in severe pain.I hope all goes well for you.

From where I sit 50 would be wonderful.

I think I am going to roll the dice. I want to go sailing some more...and to do that I need to fix the back.

If it does not work..what the hell....then I sit here and annoy the kid until he goes away to college or something.

Aqua, congratulations and good luck. Make sure you keep us updated on some of your interesting fares. I would think the hardest part of your job will be dealing with some of the people.

Olecapt, myself I would pick to be 40 again. Wise enough to know what not to do; wealthy enough to do it. With retina tears, I'm assuming you saw all those stupid floaters? The thing about eye surgery I don't like is not being able to have an anesthetic but one of the good things is, some corrective procedures I've had done ended up improving my vision so glasses were not needed for a few years.

Well, I sure feel old. When I was in my late teens to early 20's, I was thin, in great shape, and felt good and healthy. Now, at 34, I have since put on 40 pounds, and have aches and pains everywhere all day long. That is the true reason I drink so much, it is kind of my pain medication. I am moving soon, and I have to ask my roommates to do it for me because of my bad back, which just started recently getting really painfull. I feel old, fat and gross as far as I am concerned because I know what I used to be.

Default Vegas aint what it use to be

I love when these nut jobs talk about moving to las Vegas . like the strip was so pretty i have to move here . The facts are las Vegas has an approaching 16 percent unemployment rate and the valley does not need more residents with a severe water shortage . I got an idea how about improving your lot in life where you come from instead of having unreasonable expectations when moving out here. The casinos already have enough uneducated pool of people to chose from.
