Thank you very much for the information. I intend to spread the word. I do not think the politicians realize just how angry people are becoming.

I know. Sad, right? And at all levels of government. I remember the TARP bailouts, there were polls that said 80% of the people were against them (I was one of them) and yet the banks still got bailed out. So much for representation. That's why I call them the new aristocracy.
I also don't what can be done about it, short of what you said, a complete overthrow.
The only way they will care is if they feel like you will vote them outta office! So normally they win 59% to 41% they now win 58% to 42%. They just don't give a dam!!!
This. Between the union members suggested to join their local "committee" and the Nimbys it takes some silly incident like flashing their wang on the internet to get an incumbent out...and then in the knee jerk rush to punish we elect someone even WORSE for our own self-interests. Unfortunately the 38% of people who vote are chock full of 37% of the dumbest nitwits (or those with personal agendas) around. Sure I'm generalizing, it's Friday.
I do not get what is the issue with cameras ? What all the rage is about? What is the problem with enforcing the law ?
Since when do we need $60 million dollars worth of cameras and an Arizona collection agency to "enforce the law?" Particularly when there was NO documented safety problem. Laws are designed to protect citizens, not balance the budget.
"Nassau County's Traffic and Parking Violations Agency no longer will disclose when new speed cameras come online or how many devices are operating at any given time, and instead has issued a list of 77 school zones where the cameras potentially can operate."
....In the tri-state area, 1,242 pedestrians were killed between 2009-2011. Of these deaths, nearly 200 pedestrian deaths happened on Long Island, with 84 in Nassau County, and 110 Suffolk County....
Where's the stats on how many kids were killed by schools in that article? They mention Hempstead Tpk, Sunrise Hwy and I agree. So that is where they should put the cameras. That is, if this really was about safety of the "kids"
