Actually, the pit bull ranked lower in aggressiveness than golden retrievers and rat terriers. But then again, it usually depends on the living environment of the dog.

Just bad owners. Nothing to see here. Move along, folks.

False. The entire breed was not bred to fight. And it was never bred to attack humans. They were bull-baiters. They were also nanny dogs and service dogs. Some people used them for dog fighting, and some people bred them strictly for dog fighting. But that was not the purpose of the breed originally, and it was never an exclusive activity involving all pit bulls everywhere. It wasn't like a giant puppy mill simply mass producing pit bulls for the purpose of turning them into killing machines, which is what many people think. Please do your research and type responses based on fact rather than on myth, lies, and urban legend.

You also have to factor in the number of pit bulls in existence, which is large. So, any breed of dog with a disproportionate amount of numbers will likely be involved in more 'incidents' simply due to the number of dogs walking around.

Have you studied dog intelligence? How do you know pit bulls are not intelligent and German Shepherds are?

Second that. Problem is with the owner, not the dog.

People want to look like a bad ass so you think they're cool, when in reality owning one makes you look like an idiot.
How do you know pit bull owners own pit bulls in order to look tough? How do you know this? Have you interviewed every single pit bull owner in this country and asked them why they own pit bulls? You make statements that are prejudiced and opinionated, but that's about it. Make statements supported by facts, not unfounded opinion.

In Toronto Pit Bulls are band. People who have them can keep them till they die out. If they take their dog into public it must be muzzled. Pit Bulls were specifically bred to fight and kill. Those who own such a dog are dumb and trashy to say the least. Once a one of these freaks hook their teeth into something it is impossible to get them to let go...People have wacked them on the head full force with a bad and they still cling...as far as I am concerned....people and especially children come first....not damned dogs.

I would be happy to dump a million Pit Bulls into the ocean if it could save one child from physical mutilation or worse...They are a garbage dog. They were created by vicious barbaric breeders.
