Unfortunately I’ll bet that at least in NY, even if you got the vaccine tomorrow you will probably still need a mask for 6-9 months until enough people get it. Short of getting documentation (which can be faked) how can you prove you got the vaccine and are therefore not a spreader?
They’ll be able to scan your mercury level. No card needed.
Just a really fancy metal detector.
If the politicians lorded over us, we'd have had a national mask and social distance mandate back in March, everything would have come to a halt for a month or two (NATIONALLY) and we'd be coming out the other side like most other developed countries did. Instead we had cowardly, poll fearing politicians who did whatever their meathead constituents scared them into doing. Constituents fed a steady diet of misinformation and straight BS from the top. Leadership is a long dead art, as is American exceptionalism. And "shared sacrifice?" That old American chestnut is deader than fried chicken.
Whose coming out the other side monster? Look at the rates in Europe. The Netherlands just announced another 5 week total lockdown nationwide. This is not just the US.
Yes, but the problem with that isn’t a vaccine. It’s that Andy chose to shut everything down hard. Other states are battling the virus but remain open, balancing risk vs. economic impact. When you look at death rates, the vast majority are people over 75. They generally don’t work or contribute greatly to the economy.
One answer could have been mandatory n-95 masks for the over 75 set and a strict lockdown of all nursing homes.
In other words, target the Covid response at the vulnerable.
With 0 effect on the economy.
(Of course all the panicked [faux and otherwise] folks would have screamed at this limited approach.)

The record death toll for a single day coincided with the country beginning new, tougher COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. Reinforced measures are expected to run at least until January 10, affecting stores and schools.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported a record 952 deaths in Germany on Wednesday, the country's highest daily death toll since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. The previous record, set less than a week ago, was 598.
Germany also recorded 27,728 new infections as the country entered a stricter lockdown which closed schools and most shops nationwide.
That may (???- depending on your contractual obligations and licensing board requirements) be the case but as a patient, I would not want the risks of being in close contact with a provider who had made that choice and I would be looking for a different doctor. That would be my choice as well (with any doctor).

France was up to 80,000 new cases a day, a higher rate than we have had (they have 60 million residents, less than twenty percent of the US population), and went into total lockdown about six weeks ago. Dropped two weeks later to 8k-10k cases/day, now averaging about 10-12k new cases a day. The second total lockdown over there after people got lax during the summer. Lockdowns seem to be working over there.
