Understandable, it's dizzying to try to keep track of the sheer volume of political scandals.

I doubt it. Everywhere I've been, even as late as one month after the revelations, people are cracking George Santos jokes. I even heard one tonight as we were sitting in Broadway theater, to the effect that he has "four names."

I get your cynicism but there is pretty much almost zero chance he runs again. Without party backing and the fact he will have no money as no donor will touch him, makes it almost impossible to run a campaign.

We're one month in. No one will care about any of this in two months, none the less two years.

Something else pretty much comes out every other day. This isn't going away. While Santos might stick it out and not resign, he certainly isn't winning re-election next November if he is still in Congress then.

Pay no attention to the massive Chinese surveillance balloon flying slowly over sensitive US military bases across our Midwest right now. Look, another George Santos tall tale!!

No one’s saying he will win re-election or even run again, but the news cycle waits for no one and this country has the attention span of a gnat. Face facts there is a very real chance he will serve a full term.

I'm not saying that it isn't very possible that he will be here for the full term. My main point was more stuff comes out pretty much every other day and the story isn't going anywhere anytime soon, we haven't seen anything like this before.

This is likely due to the utter disconnect in this country between one political side and the other. Where I read the news, no one is covering this story at all. No one cares. I'm sure on the left (and I'm including most of the MSM in that) this is a big story getting a lot of coverage because getting him out of office is useful to the Democrats. But on the right he's just another vote, likely to vote in lockstep with the rest of the party, so his backstory is irrelevant.

I really don't get the preoccupation with the personal lives of politicians. They're virtually all scum, the only thing important is how they vote. The left has all sorts of lunatics in office, but they can generally be relied to go along with the program when it comes to pushing the party platform, so they mostly slide by without much fanfare. If you don't like them, vote in the primaries.
