NJ people can get to more places more easily in Manhattan. They can take buses to PA. If they take the PATH it stops in several places in Manhattan ... not like the LIRR where Penn Station is it.

I live 2 mins from work.... and probably thats why I hate the LIE drive and LIRR too (can it travel any slower ????)
On top of that every time I have to go out of state, its like 20-40% of my travel time is on LIE going out and the same coming in.... that sucks !!

Well the PATH is more similar to the subway system whereas NJ transit is probably comparable to the LIRR. We can take buses to PA too...have to get them @ Port Authority. NJ may have it's own NJ transit buses that go there, but it's not like NYers don't have that option.

huh? I have family that live in Bergen County. they commute via express bus and are at the port authority 30-40 minutes. As far as I know, there is no equivalent to that on LI.

I thought the original poster meant PA= pennsylvania...was that wrong? B/c if that's the case, then yes, NYers can get buses to pennsylvania.

On the some weather maps, there's usually a banner titled "New York City" that covers long island. You have to guess the weather.

This is hysterical and so true! Even some pretty smart people do not believe it. I ask them, have you crossed a bridge or gone through a tunnel to get here? lol Common sense! I show them on a map and they deny it, like I just made it up!! LOL
