Come to think of it, on craigslist there was this guy that was arguing that unemployment does not affect women as badly as men because women can always go into the sex trade and make money off the books. (Glad he's not my husband! I sure wouldn't want to lose my job being married to someone like that!)
But then, if men suffer worse financial casulaties with the economic downturn, from whence are they getting the funds to pay these women, who allegedly are not as badly affected?
Unless, perhaps, there is a happy hour in this business also.
Does make you wonder if the following conversation goes on at the precinct.
Sarge: Did you arrest them yet?
Cop: Well Sarge, we need more evidence so we'll have to go back there a few more times and make sure that they're giving out more than just a massage.
Sarge: Look, you've been on the force for 20 years now. How is that you can spot a drug dealer without even being 200 feet near him yet you can't figure out that a massage place is giving out more than just massages after 50 visits.
Cop: I just want to make sure I'm not arresting innocent people.
Sarge: Fine, but only one more time and then make your decision.
