It is the 631 you know. LOL

We bring picnic baskets, wine and cheese. It's a great way to wind down at the end of the day. Next time I have to remember to bring the oil drum!

Plus a big metal stick to put over it to impale an open can of baked beans on to warm up! YUM! Gourmet cooking, hobo style!

OH sheena.....I always agree with you with your posts I personally DO NOT like ronkonkoma !! I have friends there who like it and some who hate it...........it is NOT upper working class ! It is more lower middle class. The lake is like a swamp and the half way house and the rentals along the lake are GROSS !!! The town is run down and full of garbage stores. I would take Bohemia, Holbrook & Holtsville over ronkonkoma in a heart beat - not to mention Sayville & Oakdale as my favorites !!

I didnt have time to read all 7 pages but this is what I have to say about ronkonkoma. I live 2 miles away in nesconset. Its not white trashy but there is alot of drug related crimes, and a few stabbings. But thats mostly the younger crowd. The houses arent bad, yeh there are a few houses that look crappy but mostly because theres old people living there that cant take care of the house. If your able to survive on long island and make enough to actually own a house your a huge step up from white trash. What gives it that apparence is because of the welfare appartment complex and the tiny trailer park (about 6 units), but thats on the way to ronkonkoma dont think its actually in it.

Long Island isn't known for trailer Park areas, unlike other regions of the country. Besides the Towns of East Hampton, Riverhead and Southampton where are the other trailer parks on Long Island? I'm not even aware of one being in Ronkonkoma, although I'm not surprised.
