Yeah, but why did you pick this one from an unknown bank?

Yes. As I've said before, if you wanted a secured card, should have gone to your bank.

That would really be the best thing. But most secured cards come with an annual fee, so that's why I recommended Capital One. Either way, the OP will have to wait a good 6 months before they have any worthy credit history.

I called my bank and asked them if they had a secured credit card and they said they didn't.

OK. What happened to the Discover card for students that I recommended?

Did you also ask your bank if you could apply for ANY credit card they have? What IS your bank, anyways?

I don't know I was actually approved for this card or not it said I was. I'll have to call that bank on Monday it's called First Choice Bank.

Then you look at other options, like student cards and being listed as an authorized user on your parents' cards. Don't worry about the "what if"s. Literally nothing bad will happen if you ask, even if you're denied.

I applied for the Primor Card and through First Choice Bank and I called them this morning. They said I was pre-approved because there is no credit check. The banker told me it would help me build my credit as long as I make my payments on time but I have to make a deposit.
