Westlake hasn't been "where the wealthy lived" in many decades. The white flight there happened in the early 1960s. Was that the result of the "illegal immigration and amnesty under Kennedy" - which somehow is unbeknownst to literally everyone else besides yourself?

As I've said on other posts in this thread which I started, illegal immigration is a problem and sanctuary cities should not be tolerated but you can't blame all of L.A.'s problems on illegal immigration, and it is true that immigration has improved some neighborhoods. South L.A., Compton, and Inglewood are definitely in better shape now than they have been for a very long time, and all have been improved by immigration. I have never denied most of the illegals are perfectly decent people but that still doesn't mean we can't enforce our laws.

This all day long. An area doesn't somehow become economically depressed because "illegals" [code word for poor Hispanic immigrants whether legal or illegal] move there. If it was a nice area, poor people wouldn't be able to afford move there in the first place.

That has more to do with Wall Street concentrating all the wealth of this country.

I doubt LAPD should do deportations any way, that's USCIS task.
But anyhow, a state police officer not complying with federal regulations will just get fired, and might be accused in breaking laws as well - easy goes.

Oh, so what you're saying is that there is no correlation between being a sanctuary city and how well an economy is performing. Glad you realize this.

Perhaps one should examine all the dumpster cities across the country that are NOT sanctuary cities also.

The point is we're talking about how floods of illegals from developing countries negatively impacts a neighborhood. And it's only "family-oriented" because it's fill to the brim with people crapping out litters of kids to collect benefits. I doubt you would want to move YOUR family there. You obviously haven't been to these neighborhoods lately--just read the good press about the drop in violent crime since the 90's so now these areas are hunky-dory.
You are so full of sh*t...you have no idea.

As I said I live in the general area (less than one mile from the park). So uh yeah, I am quite familiar with the current state of the park/area. The summer concert series at Leavitt Pavilion in the park has been a great addition over the past few summers. I've attended several times.

As an LA native I recall very clearly being in the area on several occasions in the early 90's. And it was very sketchy to say the least.

A "flood of illegals" might have some negative impacts to an area but rising crime ain't one of them.

According to Kaphawoman's own posts she is a transplant who came to L.A. within the last few years so she has no idea of what MacArthur Park and Westlake were like during the 1990s.
