The SRO's that I've seen rent by the week. They cater to individuals who are not necessarily looking for cheaper than market rent, but the ability to pay weekly.

I've seen a few in hollywood, culver city and west la. When you multiply the weekly rent, its more or the same than a monthly studio.

Thanks everyone!

And I am an antisocial creep so it's look unlikely I am going to be renting a room in someone's house anytime soon.

good luck. the roslynn? i dont know. there were quite a few. but once the housing boom took hold of the historic area, lofts started going up. i would have also suggested the alexandria, but thats in the process of being rehabbed. they even shut down charlie o's. it will come back as some fu fu place.

those livable hotels are dying. there are some further east past the garment district. not hotels per se, but apts. good luck.
