Additionally, it is very expensive to license a car in KY. My renewal in KY was always $400+, whereas Texas is around $100.
Just wanted to let you know ahead of time. Try to tell your insurer about taking the bus to work, and that should lower your premiums some. I found that the Farm Bureau had lower rates than the others. Hope this helps.
Just a note, higher registration is in KY b/c TX does not have personal property tax on cars (as I know of) and Kentucky does. Also a 6% usage tax applies when you register but if you paid sales tax on your car in another state that sales tax counts as a credit to the usage tax. Bring in a finance agreement that has sales tax on it to prove it upon registration.

And the best news is that Humana employees ride TARC buses for free. You just have to show the driver your employee badge when you board.

Maybe least sprawled relative to the urban zone's land area (or, old city limits). However, for a metro of only 1.3 million, Kosmosdale is 25 miles from Downtown Louisville. Sellersburg is 15 miles from DT; La Grange, a rapidly growing suburban community, 22 miles from DT; Fisherville, 20 miles from DT.

On the other hand, more than half of the metro's population is in Louisville Metro, pop. 741,000. Bullitt, Oldham, Floyd, and Clark are legitimately suburban/exurban counties; Spencer and Shelby are exurban counties. The rest of the counties--Harrison, Nelson, Trimble, Henry--are rather rural.

My point is that while you're right about Louisville not being a Nashville or Memphis, no less Fort Worth or Austin, it's certainly not compact.

That's not a bad area at all. Very funky and near a lot of stuff. An easy bus ride to work for you. I think you'll like this neighborhood a lot.

I've been on septic tanks on and off for 30 years and I've never noticed any issues so long as they are property drained and maintained. Get a box of RidX and don't worry about it!

Great area. I live about three blocks from this location and have lived here for 3 years. We love the neighborhood, love the location even more and wouldn't want to live anywhere else!
