Oh my goodness! Alison, those are wonderful! Absolutely stunning country out there. No wonder you're loving it so much, it's so pretty!

Have fun at the Balloon Fiesta, senorita!

Default ...destination Old Town, Maine

We are moving back to Old Town, hopefully in time for Halloween. We are sitting in an apartment here in Florida, pondering the thought of sinking our life savings into a home. I know this is a good time to buy a house, but our gut feelings are telling us to get out of here and go back to the trailer in Old Town (that has no mortgage). Hubby and I miss our backyard forest.

Guess the first thing we'll do is replace some of the windows. It's a 1968 Holly Park mobile home. It's really sweet. Anyhow, I feel very bad that we made the decision to move down here. We moved here with the best of intentions, but we all know where that road sometimes leads.

TXMom, I remember when you had only been in Maine a short time. I remember how you were feeling like it was a huge mistake moving there. I, for one, am thrilled that it calls you back! I'm sorry for the upheaval you must be feeling right now in your lives, and I hope you're all resettled in time for the first of the snow sledding season! Hopefully, we'll be there sliding with you guys soon!!

Well if you feel like taking a bit of a drive on Halloween, bring your goblins to Corinth for goodies! (we'll even pop a coffee cake in the oven and heat up a pot of coffee or some hot cider for mom and dad!) I don't know if we get any trick or treaters in our rural neighborhood, but we'll have goodies waiting just in case!

You definitely need to make the trip out to visit. Those photos were taken about an hour away from where we live. My favorite place to go. I cannot imagine how the first people to see those mountains and canyons felt. This is definitely a magical land.

I wasn't pointing out your complaining - just that you've found home where you least expected it!
