Keep quiet about OC after Labor day and how everything is still open, the water is sill warm, the high summer prices go down and the major crowds are gone. PLEASE!!! Don't bring that up anymore. That is our season. The time for us to go into town, walk the boardwalk, buy overpriced fries, ice cream and pop corn.

Wait a second, It's a tourist town and my career is based on tourism so come on up, down or over.

over the years it has become almost a year-round resort, Many places close from right after new years to just before Valentines day!. The closing parties where they served cheap drinks until all are gone are pretty much a thing of the past as now many bars stay open through most of the winter so many "closing" party's are by title only and they have discounts but not necessarily to empty the bar.

It is still a safe place to go as anything bad that happens there are headlines in Balt/DC as they try their best to make it look bad. It is a small town of about 10,000 residents that swells up to hundreds of thousands in the summer month's skewing the stats so any bit of crime is the typical amount involved with hundreds of thousands of tourists (many drunk) but counted in a population of about 10,000 so of course the percentage is going to be higher (statistics can go any way you want them to)

About that black kid that got tazed. If it's alright for some to accuse the cop without knowing all the facts, it's allright for me to side with the cops and accuse the thug of being in the wrong. The story I heard lost all credibility when it stated that the punk (my words) told his mommy bla, bla, bla so whoever wrote the article was getting info from his mom. Of course to her the thug is an angel

Strange how in my teens I hated the place. (was from outside DC). NC's outer banks were more for me. Then I got old enough to go into bars and was fishing out of Hatteras, NC and OC for several years. The sidewalks being rolled up in Hatteras about the same time people were starting to go out in OC made me start to prefer Ocean City and though I have lived in other places in and out of the country I always returned to OC. Most of my jobs originated in OC as it has a very good rep in the offshore fishing community. So I bought a place here in 2011 and have my own inshore charter operation out of here!

Miles of gas stations, Taco Bells, Strip Centers, on the main road without any attempt at landscaping or environmental or architectural controls. It might have been pretty forty years ago but now it is commercialism gone wild.

To me, if I want to see the ocean I want to go to a beach in a place like Hawaii, The beautiful Oregon Coast, Big Sur in California, or the rocky shore of Maine.

Ocean City is the worst beach town ever. What is it's appeal?

It's close by.
It's a place for FAMILY vacations.
The tram (not all year) and boardwalk are great.
It's very close to Assateague Island (wild horses)
It's very close to Frontier Town (Memorial Day - Labor Day).
It has a casino.
There's an amusement park.
There are all kinds of fishing available (bay and ocean).
Dumpser's banana milkshakes
Lombardi's pizza
Springfest

I have noticed lately that an uncomfortable number of undesirable people tend to show up on the Ocean City boardwalk.

It hasn’t gotten bad yet, but it’s something to keep a watch on.

Agree with most of what you say although OC no longer closes up after Labor Day anymore. Sunfest, Bike Week, the Endless Summer Cruisin’ Car Show and OCtoberfest are all scheduled after Labor Day and draw big crowds.

In regard to the kid getting tazed this is textbook training by black activists all over the US. What they're teaching is to have these kids/young adults to violate some minor town ordinance and when the police come by, not comply when advised by the police. In this case it was vaping near the boardwalk. They were told twice it was unlawful. The second time the officers asked for ID from the violator, who then refused to provide it. The little hoodlum gathers his friends around him with their Iphones cameras rolling to make it appear the police are picking on them because they're black. Their goal is to make these encounters go viral on the Internet. As I said, this is going on all over America. The police are wise to it. They see it all the time these days. These videos play well on the internet and promote building hatred of the police which is the primary goal.

I dont know about the activist training all over the country you claim but its the knees to the ribs part people are upset about. You cant just detain a common teenager for a beach related misdemeanor?
