Latest report shows a slight uptick in hospitalizations and the positivity rate. Something to keep an eye on the next few days.

Certainly some people think its gone, but most everyone I know is still mostly staying at home and everyone in local stores is wearing masks.

I have only done outdoor dining (drinking) once and everyone was super careful. I was less impressed when I went to get takeout from one of the best seafood spots on the coast and multiple elderly people were walking around the tables and to the bathroom without masks, people in line weren't keeping their distance, and the hostess kept pulling down her mask.

But compared to where my parents are in Georgia? You'd think the Commonwealth was still in lockdown.

I’ve been browsing other states on this forum and the reactions from many make me shake my head. Almost feels like I’m at a flat earth conference.

Let's be careful folks. Don't let up on the mask wearing and social distancing. Massachusetts was best in the nation at 0.71 a couple of weeks ago, we've now crept back up to 1.0 reproduction rate. Gotta keep it <1! My guess is coincident with Part 2 of Phase 2.

Six months ago, no one thought Covid-19 existed in the US.

The first reported case came on January 21. Within 99 days, 1 million Americans became infected.

It took just 43 days after that to reach 2 million cases.

And 28 days later, the US reached 3 million cases of the novel coronavirus Wednesday.

Realistically, yes...if not sooner. On June 25, I posted:

"38k new positive cases in the US yesterday. That's the highest amount ever."

Today, less than 2 weeks later, I posted:

"Another all-time record was set yesterday with over 60k new cases nationwide."

If this continues, and I don't see any reason why it wouldn't, we are looking at potentially 1 million new cases a day in about one month from now. Several states are already at full ICU capacity.

Unless something major changes soon, the whole country could end up in lockdown at some point in August.

Edited to add: As of June 30, the US testing capacity was only 550k a day. So, they won't be able to confirm 1 million new cases a day at any time soon...but, obviously, that doesn't mean there couldn't be 1 million new infections per day.

Eh, the number of new cases daily fell significantly in the past week. The % positive might go up because there was a lot less testing too, maybe people didn't bother because of the holiday.

I have a bad feeling about that trump nh rally. Jokes aside about turnout but if even a few thousand go I'd expect august numbers to be higher.

Look I miss music concerts and festival too but we can't have large events. No conventions, no rallys, no concerts, no large gatherings.

I can see that. There seems to be a spike in reporting after weekends and especially holidays.

Is he holding a rally there? How is that allowed? Visitors from out of state are supposed to quarantine for two weeks, but a large event with people in close proximity (and from other states) is OK?
